Obesity and Your Risk for Diabetes

If you are overweight, you are more at risk for diabetes. There are three things that you should do in order to decrease your risk of diabetes: limit your calorie intake; limit your salt and sugar intake; and finally, develop a regular exercise route. All of these elements will help decrease your weight immediately. These are steps you can take right now in order to ensure that you start to lose weight now, starting this very moment. Don't wait another minute!

First of all, you should limit your calorie intake to 1200 calories per day for maximum weight loss, but it is not recommended to consume any less than 1000 calories at the minimum. If you go on a diet consisting of less than 1000 calories, your heart could stop. Your heart needs electrical impulses from the electrolytes in fluids that you take in. Thus, limit your calories. In order to maintain your weight, 1500 calories of intake is standard. Also, what exactly you eat is important. Try to maintain a balanced diet.

Limit salt and sugar intake as this will reduce your risk of getting diabetes. Salt makes your heart work harder, and overloading your system with sugars increases risk of diabetes--which can lead to having to take insulin or being on drugs that lower your sugars.

Exercise 30 minutes per day, as this is a major deterrent of diabetes.

Limiting calories, salt, and sugar--as well as exercising regularly can reduce your risk of getting diabetes. Don't wait. Start today!
