Aloe Vera Juice for a Health Digestive Tract

Every one has heard of using aloe vera gel to soothe a savage sunburn; but what about using aloe vera to soothe the savage digestive tract? The aloe vera that is commonly applied to sunburns is a gel which is extracted from the leaves of the plant; aloe vera juice is a liquid which is found in small tubules near the surface of the leaves of the plant. Some say that aloe vera juice can speed up your metabolism, improve digestion, cleanse your colon, and remove toxins from your system. It has been theorized that the juice contains a protein that requires more energy to process than proteins found in other foods and beverages. Because your body has to work harder to break down this aloe vera juice protein, your metabolism may speed up after imbibing the juice. These properties could make aloe vera juice appropriate to use as a weight loss aid. However, it should be noted that the FDA has only approved aloe vera juice when its role is that of a laxative. Laxatives push digested foods out of your colon before your body has the opportunity to absorb the calories from them. It's possible that the reason aloe vera juice has been known to assist people in their weight loss goals is related to the fact that it is a laxative. Using laxatives for purposes other than the relief of constipation can be dangerous. Beware that there are numerous digestive side effects when laxatives are used incorrectly.
