How to Burn More Calories

People can burn calories each day by becoming more active and less sedentary. Simple calorie burning activities include walking, taking stairs, doing isometric exercises, doing household chores and walking a dog. If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight.

Short amounts of exercise are good for you. Ten minutes a couple of times a day is sufficient. The key is to get up and move around. Take a short walk during your lunch hour, and take the stairs when possible. Isometric exercises can be done in a static position and are great for strength training and burning calories. Household chores such as vacuuming and mopping are low impact activities. Even washing dishes is a physical activity. If you have a dog you can exercise when you take him/her out for a walk.

A variety of daily physical activities can burn calories. Try walking, taking the stairs, doing isometric exercises, cleaning your house and walking your dog. All of these low impact forms of exercise keep you active, burn calories and result in better physical fitness. You can benefit from doing just ten minutes of exercise a couple of times every day. Burning calories results in weight loss.
